Many of the people looking for a personal trainer in Puerto Banús are here for part of the year. Some are on holiday for a week or two. Others split their time between Marbella and London, Stockholm or Dubai. Some live here full time and want help getting back into shape.
What you need from a coach depends on which of those you are. This guide covers where to train near Puerto Banús, what it costs, and what to look for.
There are three realistic options.
A gym nearby. Puerto Banús and Nueva Andalucía have several good gyms within five or ten minutes. Banús Sport Club is a premium gym in Puerto Banús with day passes from €25. M13 Gym in Centro Plaza is a well-equipped gym with dumbbells up to 70kg. Real Club Padel in Nueva Andalucía, where we coach most of our clients, has a full gym, a HYROX zone, and a spa. Our guide to gyms in Marbella has prices for each.
Your villa or apartment. Many developments in Puerto Banús and Nueva Andalucía have a building gym, and many villas have a private one. If there's a rack, a barbell and some dumbbells, you can train well there.
Outdoors. The promenade from Puerto Banús towards Marbella is flat and good for running, and there are parks for bodyweight work. Outdoor training is good for conditioning and limited for strength unless your coach brings equipment.
Around Puerto Banús, 1:1 sessions at a gym usually cost between €50 and €100, depending on the trainer and the gym. Villa sessions usually cost more because the coach travels to you, and some trainers charge extra for very early or late sessions. Remember to add a gym day pass or membership if you're training at a gym.
We charge €75 a session at Real Padel Club and from €85 at your villa, including IVA. There's more detail in our guide to personal training prices in Marbella.
A short stay is a good time to learn something you'll use at home. That might be how to squat and deadlift properly, a plan for the gym you use back home, or how to fit training around travel.
Ask for a written programme you can take with you. Four or five sessions with a coach is enough to learn the main movements and leave with a plan for the next couple of months.
This is where most people lose their progress. They train hard in Marbella for six weeks, go away for two months, and start again when they're back.
What works is one plan that carries on wherever you are. Coached sessions when you're here, and the same programme adapted to your hotel or home gym when you're away, with check-ins so someone notices if it slips. We call this hybrid coaching, and many of our clients use it.
